Many organisations can identify current risks. Far fewer are equipped to recognise the signals of what comes next.

Emerging risks rarely arrive fully formed. They develop through ambiguity, weak signals, accelerating change, and shifting interdependencies that traditional risk frameworks often struggle to capture.

This upcoming Innovation Special Interest Group session will explore how organisations can build more adaptive approaches to identifying, modelling, and responding to emerging risks in an increasingly volatile environment.

Drawing on frameworks including CORE©, RADAR©, and FORGE©, the discussion will examine:

- How to detect and interpret weak signals earlier

- The role of velocity, ambiguity, and decision urgency in modern risk management

- Moving beyond static risk registers toward adaptive resilience

- How emerging risk management can create strategic opportunity, not just protection

- Building enterprise risk capabilities fit for continuous disruption and innovation

The session will be led by Adrian Clements, founder of AMC, whose work combines quantitative risk expertise with practical governance experience across sectors including energy, manufacturing, agriculture, financial services, and technology.
