What does a mature programme risk capability look like when applied to major, complex infrastructure programmes?

On 7 October, the Infrastructure Special Interest Group will host Key Elements of a Mature Programme Risk Capability, a webinar drawing on more than 25 years of practical risk leadership across some of the UK's major regulated sectors.

The session will be led by Vinay Shrivastava, a Civil Engineer and experienced risk leader whose career spans Utilities, Transport, Energy, Financial Markets Infrastructure and Defence. Vinay has advised Boards and Executives on major capital investments and is a former NED of the Institute of Risk Management and former Chair of both its Risk Advisory Board and Infrastructure Risk SIG.

Drawing on lessons from across his career, Vinay will explore programme risk capability through the eight principles of ISO 31000: integration, structured and comprehensive approaches, customisation, inclusion, dynamic risk management, best available information, human and cultural factors, and continual improvement.

The session will provide practical perspectives on how these principles can strengthen decision-making and help organisations develop more effective risk management in complex project and programme environments.
